Sustainable Urban Rehabilitation: Bhatti Gate & Bazaar-e-Hakima

Bhatti Gate is one of the two earliest entry points to the Walled City of Lahore and historically serves as the city’s intellectual and literary heart. This project focuses on the rehabilitation of the Bazaar-e-Hakima trail, the very path through which Maharaja Ranjit Singh entered the city in 1799, leading to the Lahore Fort and Badshahi Mosque.

From conference proceedings to specialized monographs, our books are designed to be a permanent resource for students, researchers, and cultural enthusiasts worldwide.

Core Objectives

The "No-Eviction" Policy

A core mandate ensuring that urban development improves infrastructure (clean water, sanitation, and sustainable transport) without displacing the original residents or causing gentrification.

Socio-Spatial Dynamics

Addressing the balance between community needs and tourism pressures. Strategic use of vacant lots is planned to provide communal spaces for residents while facilitating visitors.

UNESCO-THAAP Pilot Project

Integrating cultural heritage knowledge into local school curriculums to empower the youth as future custodians of their neighborhood.

Sustainable Infrastructure

Focus on "Eco-City" principles, including clean energy and pedestrian-friendly zones within the historic core.
